BLEACH BYPASS

The bleach bypass process is a form of C-41 processing in which you skip the bleach step or significantly lower your duration of using the bleach. We wanted to try this one as we had read about it on blog posts before and it seemed very simple compared to the other experiments we had done.

Bleach Bypass has been used to manually alter the saturation of film in movies/films like Saving Private Ryan (1999), Seven (1995), 1984 (1984) and more.

For our test images below, we used the bleach for 1 minute instead of 6 minutes and 30 seconds and shot on fujifilm PRO H 400. The de-saturation is subtle but interesting. If you would like to develop with us and try out some bleach bypass, email us :)
